Tips on making a good wordpress.

Well, I know most of you are complaining about hits. Yes, I know, I have quite a lot (more than Mohd222 and RPF’s site, if you want to know) and I will teach you to make your own site easy! Let’s start off with the BASICS.

Making A Website

If I were you, I’d make it with wordpress. Piczo does NOT allow you to have your site on google as much as wordpress, as well Blogger has a little banner on top, making it a little ‘NOT YOURS’. WordPress is used everywhere and is very easy to use. I have used piczo before and it isn’t that good. It’s harder, doesn’t get your site on google, forget it.

The Next Step

Well, now that you got to wordpress, make sure you try and name it something easy. Mine isn’t exactly ‘EASY’, but something like watex allows your site to be easily remembered and so people will visit more! Another example: Make it like ‘cpcheatsandstuff.wordpress.com’ or something like that so people will look for something once in a while (i remember searching for ‘clubpenguincheats.wordpress, cpcheats.wordpress, etc.). Try and get a good theme for your wordpress.

Posting

Posting. The BIG important step of having a good website is posting. I once did a little experiment. I did not post for 3 days. Only 3 days and my hits dropped from 1,000 the 400 a day! Posting, post about EVERYTHING in Club Penguin. From weird things to updates, membership to funny usernames, POST! Penguins will look around and see your site.

BONUS TIP: If you post TOO much, it might ‘lower’ your old posts, and if it’s about items, nobody knows where the items are! So make it on a widget like mine if you post too much.

Advertising

Good. You got the basics. Now for advertising. A lot of sites have ‘Advertising’ pages where you can advertise your site. MAKE SURE your site is well created. Advertise on popular sites. You might wanna check out Toronto’s, Watex’s, Chewit Dude’s, and some other. If you want extra hits, EVERY time you comment, and I mean EVERY time, say something like:

or some other stuff because you want hits, don’t you?

Headers, Pictures, and Widgets

Okay, headers first. Make a header that is appropriate, Club Penguin-like, and not just a landscape. Aim for something like, say mine. I edited it so it will look good and not just some rocks in water or something. Aim for good! Look for WORDPRESS HEADER GENERATORS!

Pictures next. Okay, here goes. Pictures, make sure you CROP them. Press Prt Scrn and then open up MS Paint. Click Ctrl+V. You paste the picture. Click the —– box thing. Then make a square of what you want the picture to be. Right click and select COPY TO. Name your file xxxx.gif. Or .jpeg. xxxx is where you name it. Try and not make them too big, like your igloo. If it’s your igloo I will recommend thumbnail size.

Widget time! Widgets are things on your sidebar. Like a hit widget. Everytime someone visits your site, you get a ‘hit’. So, what do we do? We try and do it in this order:

• Text 1 (put latest items and pins)
• Hits. NO Calendar. Maybe Text 2 for ‘About Me’
• Try ‘About Me’.
• Blogroll
• Who’s Amung Us?
• Recent Comments
• Calendar
• Askimet (Spam)

Try something like that!

Blogroll

Try and get into people’s blogrolls. Be friend’s with people then ask them to add them to their blogroll. Or go to any site and say something like “Great site! I’ll add you to my blogroll if you add me! Comment back! (signature)”

They probably do so and then you have someone on your blogroll, and so do they!
